CHARACTER NAME: Simon Tam
CHARACTER SERIES: Firefly

[OOC]

Backtagging: Is fine, but I'll admit I'm bad at keeping up with them, so if you want to continue a thread with me I may need the occasional reminding nudge. Otherwise I'm happy to hand-wave and discuss what happened 'off-screen'.
Threadhopping: Perfectly okay in journal entries, though for logs I'd prefer if you asked first.
Fourthwalling: No, please. Simon's neurotic enough, realizing that his entire life is a nothing but a television series (and one that got cancelled at that) would launch him into an existentialist nightmare and no one wants that.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): The only subject I've ever ran into that seems to be a trigger for me is bullying, but I wouldn't ask that it never be brought up in rp. An OOC heads-up is always appreciated.

[IC]

Hugging this character: Yes, though Simon's a very uptight guy so you'd better at least be friends with him first, and even then he's probably going to be surprised and a touch awkward about it even if it doesn't offend him.
Kissing this character: Yes, and like before your character had better be very good friends with Simon to get away with this without triggering a massive awkward overload of "Why would you do that?!"
Flirting with this character: Yes, but don't expect Simon to respond in kind. He's an awful flirt to begin with and he's not big on looking for romance. The most likely response your character will get is awkward fumbling and pretending that was a perfectly innocent smile and wink.

Fighting with this character: Yes, and considering Simon's known in canon for saying things that earn him a swift punch in the mouth, I'd say most fights don't even need an OOC warning! Of course, if your character is looking for more than just a round of fisticuffs, then I think it's best we talk it out OOC first to determine how it will go down.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Yes, to a limit. Generally injuries that can be healed from are okay with me, from broken bones to mild bruising. Even scarring can be okay with me, though I'd like to work out where the scar will be and how bad ahead of time. I draw the line at major disfigurements such as limbs being removed or even fingers and toes.
Killing this character: Yes, but only for plot purposes with the details worked out ahead of time. If CR leads to your character really wanting Simon's head on a spike, get in touch with me and we'll discuss it.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Yes, but as Simon's own sister is a psychic he'll be slightly more sensitive about that than the average person. He likely can't put up any mental blocks to keep an experienced telepathic out of his head, but he'd at least try (usually by filling his thoughts with as much noise as possible, reciting medical procedure and things like that) if he suspected his mind was being read or had anything he particularly wanted to hide.

Warnings: Nothing serious, though as Simon's a trauma surgeon so if needles or stitches or other serious injuries are a squick, you might want to take care, though I will be sure to label any logs that he does his doctor thing in.

In Siren's Port Simon will develop a dormant ability to produce and then breath into the atmosphere a slightly altered chemical from his universe known short hand as the Pax. A basic summary of what it does can be found here. Simon's version differs in that once he stops producing the chemical it will dissipate any victims will come around after an hour or so, depending on how hardy they are and now long they were out.

The downside to this is that, like the original Pax, there is a chance (a 5-10% chance rather than the original .01%) it will backfire and instead of pacifying the victim, they become a Reaver. (Warning! Possible triggers under that link. Reavers are scary, awful, and traumatizing by their very nature.) Luckily it would be temporary as well, though it will take a lot longer to wear off without intervention of some kind.

It will be a while before Simon even realizes he has this power and he will be using it very sparingly, but if anyone is interested in having their characters get Pax'd or even Reaver'd, leave a comment here and we can plot things out. Remember, Reavers are walking trigger factories, so please consider this carefully. I'm avoiding hard numbers about Reaverizing because I want whether or not it happens and how long it lasts to be up to the mun, but as it's meant to be a low chance of happening I'll have a limit. Nothing as crazy as five Reavers in a row, for example, and even two in a row will be very unlikely.

Any other questions about whether your character would be immune or not can be asked here as well.
